CLOSING THE HEALTH GAP

”Closing the Health Gap” is a joint DHHS/ABC radio project in which CDC is involved. The project addresses racial and ethnic health disparities. The target audience is 30+ year old adult African Americans in urban areas who are the primary audience for the ABC radio network. There are additional details at www.healthgap.omhrc.gov , the project website which provides program information and topical links to each of the agencies that have programs included in the project. The web site, a toll-free phone line, and a clearinghouse that mails out program materials are all being managed by the DHHS Office of Minority Health (OMH).

The attached letter from Claude Allen, Deputy Secretary of DHHS, invites you to join us in this partnership project by working locally in your community to support Take a Loved One to the Doctor Day on September 24. Details of this special event, how to get involved, and additional information is contained in Mr. Allen’s letter. Please join us!
